Dr. Ashish Joshi Featured Plenary Speaker APACPH 2026 Conference
Friday, 09 October 2026
The 57th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Conference will
convene in Tainan, Taiwan, from October 20-23, 2026, bringing together public health
leaders, researchers, educators, practitioners, and students from across the Asia-Pacific
region and around the world. This year's theme, “Leveraging Healthcare Technology
and Artificial Intelligence for Public Health and Wellness, highlights the growing
role of digital innovation and AI in advancing population health, strengthening health
systems, and improving community well-being.
Featured plenary speaker Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dean and Distinguished University Professor
of the University of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ School of Public Health, will explore how digital health
technologies, including mobile health, health information technology, wearable devices,
telehealth, and telemedicine, are transforming healthcare delivery across the Asia-Pacific
region. While the region's rapidly growing digital health ecosystem presents significant
opportunities to improve health outcomes, strengthen system resilience, and enhance
preparedness for future public health emergencies, challenges remain. These include
fragmented data governance, inconsistent data quality, limited interoperability, unequal
access to digital technologies, and regulatory barriers.
Dr. Joshi will emphasize the importance of robust health data governance frameworks,
secure and interoperable infrastructure, sustained investment, policy support, and
cross-sector collaboration. He will also discuss how public health diplomacy and multilateral
partnerships can help establish shared approaches to health data exchange, privacy,
interoperability, and the dissemination of digital public health best practices across
the region.
As one of the premier public health gatherings in the region, APACPH 2026 aims to
strengthen international partnerships, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and
advance innovative solutions to emerging health challenges. The conference will provide
a platform for participants to explore the future of public health while building
connections that support healthier communities throughout the Asia-Pacific region
and beyond.
